I'm going to start playing Harpoon again. I have the Ultimate Edition. In the past I've played mostly the Commander's Edition (and similar going all the way back). I also played ANW a bit. I plan to play both and recall from reading the MG forum that I thought the PlayersDB had the best program for that. Could you please direct me to whatever files I'll need for HUE ANW? I also saw the Dummies youtube info and will be using that to get going with ANW. Thank you for any help.

Be forewarned, if you intend to play multi-player ANW, do NOT apply the 3.11.1 update as this will render your game unplayable in MP mode.

Ok, after looking around some more, this is a little confusing. Ultimate has three options. The hue anw. The anw. The ver 3. Apparently I installed the hue anw and erroneously called the anw. No matter, I found the download for the hue anw. What I'm wondering is if one or the other is the best? I would assume the hue version since it looks like the latest but don't know.

Yes, the HUE bundle can be confusing. Four game versions are included:

1) HCE
2) Harpoon3 v3.6.3
3) Harpoon3 ANW v3.9.4
4) Harpoon3 HUE v3.10.0

Since you have previously played HCE and H3, you do not need to review their differences.

The three different versions of H3 are:

v3.6.3 was released in 2001, is only solitaire, and has (IMO) the most aggressive AI
v3.9.4 was released 2006, has MP capability, fixed some v3.6.3 bugs, but added many, many more
v3.10.0 was released in 2010, is only solitaire, fixed virtually no bugs, and only added more problems

You can select the version you like best. There is a different version of the PlayersDB customized for each of the game versions.

That clears it up a bit. I will play CE plus one of the others. Looks like none is perfect and all have their problems. Since I already installed 3.10 I'll start with that. Thanks again.
