When the Comm facility is designated the Flagship unit via the ScenEditor, the datalinkages should still emanate from the Runway facility. This will not change. However, when the game is actually RUN with the Game Engine, the Allied Neutral units should appear. Is this not happening? Is the scenario actually being Run (unpaused) with the Game Engine (not the ScenEditor)?

In fact, I re-tested both the original scenario posted by you and the modified scenario posted by me and the Allied Neutral units actually appear in both scenarios, when run under the Game Engine. Theoretically, no modification was necessary.

What is the problem with the file attached to this thread that makes you unable to download it to the original computer?
Perhaps, the easiest way is to find some way to download the file and move it to original computer either via flash drive, CD, or disk.

At this point, I am quite confused as to what the problem appears to be.

Yup, I'm an idiot. Of course the Friendlies didn't show up because I hadn't started the game. Instead, I was feverishly trying to figure out what was wrong when in Paused mod, which is how the game starts. Everything you said is correct, and I just didn't start the game to initiate data links with the Allied Friendlies. Thanks Herman. I'll try not to be so dim-witted next time.

When base groups are added to a scenario, the ScenEditor adds the Runway facilities first because they have the lowest ID numbers in the database. If seeing the datalinkages is important, do not add a base group as the first unit for any side. Instead, insert a Comm facility first. Then, add the base group. If you like, the Comm facility can now be combined and grouped together with the other base facilities.

Thanks for the tip. It's amazing how long you can play and be associated with this game and still learn things.

Hey Herman,
Is this a typo in the Harp 3 Manual?
This is regarding Intermittent Settings with Sensors - Page 118:

"11.3 intermittent setting
When Intermittent is selected, the sensor will become active for a certain duration and then passive for a certain duration. Numerical values are entered to determine the active sensor duration and its variance and the passive sensor duration along with its variance.
If for example you enter a value of 10 for passive, a % variance (for passive) of 50, a value of 20 for active, and a % variance (for active) of 75, the sensor will be active for 10 minutes plus or minus 50% (or, 5-15 min.) and then will go passive for 20 minutes plus or minus 75% (or, 5-35 min.) once the sensor has been active once and then passive once, the AI generates another number randomly within the range for each and begins the cycle again."

Shouldn't it read:

......10 for passive, a % variance (for passive) of 50, a value of 20 for active, and a % variance (for active) of 75, the sensor will be passive for 10 minutes plus or minus 50% (or, 5-15 min.) and then will go active for 20 minutes plus or minus 75% (or, 5-35 min.).

It seems strange in their version that the numbers would be assigned for the passive and the active as 10 and 20 respectively, but the resulting effect when playing would be flipped where passive would go 20 and active would be 10.

Could this be a typo?

Yes, I believe you are correct and that the manual has a typo reversing the values for Passive and Active performance.

Okay, I have three ready to go in the pipeline (#'s 25, 26, 27), designed and tested. Here's the first one, #25, still going into the Battleset named The Fifty Yard Line.
Thanks Herman.

The 25th NEW Indochine Campaign Scenario

The Battle of Beagle Gulf

The Timor Sea
Northwest Australia / Indonesia / S E Asia
Darwin and the Beagle Gulf:

After holding out and maintaining basic operational functions, Darwin hopes to get the relief they need. Allied task groups approach to engage the Indochine naval blockade that has kept this northwest Australian outpost under siege.

The gamble, however, is whether the Indochine carrier that so vexed the defenders of Darwin is still lurking in the Timor Sea. For the Allies, maintaining a secure base at Darwin provides a staging area for future operations up into the Indochine underbelly.

This humble base, on the far edges of the Allied domain, is a very important key to striking at the Indochine beast. The enemy knows it, which explains why they've tried to break it; and we know it, which is why we must defend it and hold it at all costs.

Hey Herman,
Has SimHQ stopped having "Harpoon 3 Scenarios for the PlayersDB" thread an active thread? I can access it by an old shortcut I have on my computer, but if I log on and go to the live SimHQ site, that particular thread is no longer on the list. Only After-Action-Reports and PlatersDB Project. Does this mean I can't publish on this site anymore?
