The 26th NEW Indochine Campaign Scenario

26 Hunters of the Deep

West Europe/West Med/Western Hemisphere;

South & Central Atlantic/West Africa;

Cape Verde;

Indochine "Wolfpacks" lie in wait off the west coast of Africa, south of Cape Verde. They have been preying on Allied shipping running convoys south from West Europe and North America. These vital shipments are headed to navigate around the Cape of Good Hope (The Cape to well-travelled sailors) to supply Allied forces retrenched on Reunion, Mauritius and the Comorros Islands.

The number of Allied sinkings in this troublesome spot has not been lost on Allied Command. Knowing that this threat needs to be eliminated, the Allies cobble together an ASW hunting party from US, Spanish and French units that are overworked, undermanned and in need of repairs. Despite these negatives, the forces are out to get some payback!

Hey Herman,
Long time no talk to. How are you? I've been very remiss in working on my Harpoon scenarios; and although I have 3 or 4 new ones done, they have not been tested yet. I've noticed that you have not been very active on the site. Are you still involved and holding down the Harpoon 3 Fort? Let me know, because I'm feeling kinda remote here and wondering if we're the last men standing.
Cheers,
Alan

End of 4th Battleset – “The Fifty Yard Line”

This scenario, “Express West Pt 1”, is the twenty seventh scenario and the last of the fourth battleset – “The Fifty Yard Line”. The next battleset of the Indochine Campaign is “The Flickering Flame”. With luck and some hard work, I will come out with the first scenario(s) sometime later this year with a projected series of 6 scenarios. I hope you check in and play.

Thanks, Alan Caso

Taiwan/China/Philippines;

350nm East of Taiwan:

A US Carrier Task Force proceeds west from Pearl Harbor to conduct air strikes on Chinese Indochine facilities on Taiwan.

The Indochine brass have different plans than Allied Naval Command for the fate of these intrepid raiders.

Hey Herman,
Is it my error or has the SimHQ site dropped Harpoon from their categories? I went to announce the next scenario and the close of the current Battleset, and there was no Harpoon category anymore - just Harpoon downloads. That's depressing. Any thoughts?

Re: CasoDB AMENDED - New Database and scenarios

Postby aotino » Sat Mar 21, 2020 9:27 pm

Hi Herman,
Couple of quick questions -
First, a scenario I'm creating has me mining the Straits of Hormuz (yup, again) - so, first, I know that I shouldn't put a mine in any water over -50, and do the start scenario, save and check the mine(s) to see that they are in place with the proper depth of -50, correct?
Secondly, I have actually never made use of exclusion zones. So, if I wanted to insure that the Allies were excluded from a zone, how do I do that, and do I do that when I'm in the Allied side of play when I design the exclusion zone?
Thanks!

Oh one other thing.... is it only the contact mines that will work, or is there a way for the Sea and Seabed mines to be set for the -50 depth? I was only able to get the contact mines to do that after starting and pausing the scenario. Its been a while since I've laid mines - quite a few scenarios ago, so I don't quite remember. How do I set the other type of mines to work and get them out of that ridiculous depth that they default to?
